Hibernation
A mammalian winter dormancy; in reptiles the correct term is brumation.
People often say a reptile is hibernating, but true hibernation is a mammalian process. Reptiles undergo brumation, which looks similar (winter dormancy, reduced activity and feeding) but differs physiologically, brumating reptiles still rouse to drink and move.
