Your wood turtle can't tell you the humidity has crept too low or that its basking spot has drifted cool. baskr watches the pattern across your logs, temperature, humidity, weight and feeding, and shows you what needs attention before it becomes a problem.

Tropical Central America
Climat d'origine. Warm, humid tropical forest near streams and pools; hot days, mild nights, a distinct wet and dry season.
Pourquoi les soins sont ainsi. This is why baskr targets a warm 30 to 32°C basking spot, high humidity around 70 to 80%, and a shallow water area rather than a deep tank.
Le relevé, c'est l'entrée. Le produit, c'est repérer le moment où une seule valeur inhabituelle devient une tendance à traiter.
30–32°C (86–90°F) over the basking spot
A few degrees cool for a stretch and digestion, appetite and activity quietly drop.
70–80% for this rainforest-floor turtle
Persistently dry air risks shell, eye and respiratory problems, catch it early.
Shallow water and air around 24–28°C
Cool, damp conditions are a respiratory-infection risk worth spotting quickly.
Steady, with mild seasonal variation
A downward trend across two or three weigh-ins is an early red flag.
A varied omnivore diet several times a week
A run of refusals that isn't seasonal warrants a look at warmth and hydration.
Sans danger
À éviter
A humid, planted floor suits it well and helps hold humidity. Rinse anything it might nibble, and skip anything you can't confirm is non-toxic.

À ne jamais donner
Compléments. Provide calcium (a cuttlebone works well); good UVB lets the turtle actually use it. Add a reptile multivitamin occasionally.
Bon à savoir. A true omnivore, so offer real variety across animal protein, greens, veg and some fruit. Juveniles lean more carnivorous; adults take more plants and fruit. Many wood turtles feed most easily in or right beside the water.

UVB lighting
A T5 HO UVB tube (~6%, Ferguson zone 2–3) over the basking/land area, ~30 cm above the basking spot. Replace every 12 months even if it still lights.
Basking heat
A basking lamp on a thermostat to hold 30–32°C at the basking spot on land.
Thermostat
Non-negotiable, it controls the heat source so the enclosure can't overheat.
Thermometer + hygrometer
Digital, to track basking temperature and the 70–80% humidity at floor level.
Water area
A shallow, easy-exit pool or large water tray, kept clean (they mess in it), warmed gently to ~24–26°C.
Enclosure
A large, humidity-holding setup (big tub, turtle table or converted vivarium) with a mostly-land layout and good ventilation.
Basé sur tes propres relevés et les valeurs idéales ci-dessus, en langage clair, jamais un diagnostic.
Humidity has averaged 55% this week, below the 70–80% your wood turtle needs. Check misting and substrate before it stresses the shell and eyes.
Basking spot read 27°C for several days, below the 30–32°C it needs to digest. Check the bulb height or thermostat.
Mango has refused food for a week and the water's been running cool. Warm the setup and keep an eye on the weight trend.
No, it's semi-terrestrial. It needs a mostly-land, humid, planted setup with a shallow water area to wade and soak, not a deep aquarium. It's a poor swimmer and can drown in water that's too deep.
They're omnivores. Offer real variety: earthworms, snails and insects, leafy greens and veg, some fruit (they genuinely take it), and a quality pellet. Juveniles lean more carnivorous; adults eat more plants and fruit. Provide calcium and UVB so they can use it.
Around 20 cm (8 inches) of carapace, with females usually a little larger. A single adult wants at least a 4×2 ft floor, and bigger is always better.
Get an exotics-vet check with a faecal parasite test, this species is often wild-caught and comes in with parasites, and quarantine it away from other animals until it's cleared. Then dial in warmth (30–32°C basking), 70–80% humidity, UVB and a varied diet. baskr is a husbandry assistant, not a diagnosis.
