Chronic dryness pyramids the shell; stagnant damp risks infection.

Comment aménager un terrarium pour indian star tortoise

Taille minimale
A large open floor with warm dry and humid micro-zones: a 4×3 ft (120×90 cm) footprint minimum for one adult, bigger is better. Indoors for most keepers, given its warmth needs.

Substrat
A dig-friendly soil and sand mix, drier over most of the floor with a damp, humid hide; a moisture-holding area mirrors the monsoon side of its range.
Cachettes & déco
A warm hide and a separate humid hide, plus shade; this is a shy grazer that wants cover.
Agencement
Warm and stable: a basking zone under strong UVB, a warm dry side and a humid hide, a shallow water dish, and gentle, consistent heat with no cold corners. It must never get cold.
